GEHS is located at 425 North Waverly Road, Gardner KS, 66030. The show begins Wednesday, February 17th and runs the 17th, 18th and 20th at 8pm each night. The show is called 'Broadway for Dummies' and consists of a number of different musicals combined into one centeral plotline. It's pretty interesting and original. If you guys could make it, that'd be really cool for the cast members who came and saw Rent and Children of Eden. Thanks!

Hi Taylor,

Where is GEHS - send an address and if kids can make it I'm sure they'll come and see your show. Break-a-leg. Ms. Davis (North theatre teacher)

A lot of us came down from GEHS to see Rent and we all loved it. We think it's really cool to be able to see other school's productions. We just recently finished 'Grease' and we're moving on to a musical review entitled 'Broadway for Dummies' that has hits from tons of Broadway shows. Anyway, we just wanted to invite anyone here who wants to come!

Performances are Wednesday, February 17th; Thursday, February 18th and Saturday, February 20th.

Hope some of you guys can make it. Thanks.

Hi Crystal - what is your last name? I know that Eric Berndt at PTn took photos of both The Wizard of Oz and Grease - I'll bet you could contact him to order some photos -- we have some up in the lobby displays, but I need to work on all the display stuff and frame it to make things more permanent. How are you and what are you doing with your life now? The big winter musical is Children of Eden - it goes up on Jan. 21, 22 and 23 - come if you can. Take care. Ms. Davis (nodavis@smsd.org)

I have fond memories of SMN and being a part of The Wizard of Oz and Greece!! I am truly impressed with the talent that North produces, and I am proud to have been a part of it. I am hoping to be able to see a production sometime soon. I hear that you were all amazing in Rent! If anyone has an pictures from the ¡¦99-¡¦02 time I would love to see them. ?º

I heard about the protest regarding Rent so I decided to get on this website and see what the SMN theatre crew was up to. I enjoyed my days in theatre at SMN and am super proud that you choose Rent as your musical for this year. I currently live in NYC and have always enjoyed Rent and the feelings it evokes. It also makes me sad to look through this website because it reminds me of the amazing education and opportunities the students of SMN are receiving. I am a literacy coach in a school in Harlem currently and the education is definitely not the same. There is no space for a theatre and four teachers share one classroom. I wanted to share this because I want the students of SMN to know how fortunate they are to have a theatre department where they can explore their creativity and learn who they are as people. Keep up the good work and if I ever move back to KC, I will have to catch a play.

I'm looking forward to seeing RENT tomorrow night. And I just wanted to send the cast and crew my support for doing the play. Ignore the protesters. I grew up in Lawrence and they visited the KU campus daily. Eventually they were ignored by the press and media. They are a good example of what intolerance looks like.
